Magic tribute band charity gig.
Mon, Apr 4th, 2011

ISSUED ON BEHALF OF THE SCOTTISH SPINA BIFIDA ASSOCIATION

AND CANCER RESEARCH UK

Final tickets on sale for The Great Big Property Gig 2011

6.30pm – 11.30pm, 21 April 2011

Organisers have released the final batch of tickets for sale for the hottest ticket of the year – The Great Big Property Gig 2011.

Open to all but organised by the Scottish property industry, the charity event takes place at The Ferry on 21 April and will be headlined by acclaimed Queen tribute band, Magic.

This year's event is once again all about rocking out with fresh new music as well as some old favourites. But this is not simply a chance to enjoy live music in a great atmosphere; the Gig will also raise vital funds for two extremely worthwhile charities: the Scottish Spina Bifida Association and Cancer Research UK.

The 2011 Gig headliners, Magic, are fresh from headlining a gig in Moscow's Gorky Park at the request of the Russian Government! The band has also played venues in Hong Kong, America, the Middle East and throughout Europe and closer to home they’ve performed their Magic: a kind of Queen show, twice, at the world famous London Palladium.

Tickets are on sale now from www.thegreatbigpropertygig.com priced at £25. With the Gig having raised in excess of £70,000 for charity over the last few years, organisers are planning another outstanding show.

Says Donny McKinnon of Downtown Space - one of the Gig's founder members - “This is now the Great Big Property Gig's sixth year and it's fair to say we're planning another superb night. As well as Magic, we will have the A51s, Rules of Conduct and Satellite 10 – all great bands with different styles and repertoires, so there really will be something for everyone, from good old fashioned rock and roll, to contemporary classics..

The Gig is all about forgetting about formal, black tie charity events and having a chance to relax, enjoy good music and raise money for two extremely worthwhile charities.

Charities have had a tough time in the last few years, with fewer people and companies being in a position to make donations. So whilst it's also been tough for the property industry, this is a chance to get together and relax. Cancer Research UK and the Scottish Spina Bifida Association both do a sterling job and there's a very good chance that everyone reading this will have been touched by their work at some point in their lives so let's get out there and support them. This year we've got some new faces on the committee and some fresh ideas so let's make it happen. The Gig is organised by the property industry but open to all, some come along and enjoy a really good night.”

Once again, there will be the opportunity to win a classic Fender Stratocaster. In addition, an Epiphone Studio Dot Semi Electric Guitar will be there for the taking.

Donny McKinnon continued: “Everyone involved provides their time and services free of charge and is related in some way to the property industry. We've raised a fantastic amount of money over the last few years, in fact more than we ever expected, so let's keep the momentum going and have some good fun raising money.”

Tickets are priced at just £25, available from www.thegreatbigpropertygig.com

Sponsors of the 2011 Gig are Park Lane Group, Wallace Whittle and Forrest Group.
