Broadcast nationwide in prime time in April 2014 by PBS in its Great Performances strand after the accolade of a special BAFTA New York premiere, Glad All Over: The Dave Clark Five and Beyond achieved amazing ratings and media coverage that reflect not only the love America has for the band but the craving for a story never told before: the hits, the style, the fame, and the compelling tale of what happened beyond the mania.

Testifying to the lasting impact of the band and what made them unique in an era of brilliant, game-changing creativity, Glad All Over: The Dave Clark Five and Beyond features newly filmed interviews with Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Sir Ian McKellen, Stevie Wonder, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, Bruce Springsteen, Steven Van Zandt of The E Street Band, Gene Simmons of Kiss, Whoopi Goldberg, Dionne Warwick and Twiggy. Interwoven throughout, boyhood fan Tom Hanks’ inspirational and moving speech at The DC5’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2008 explains what five guys from North London and the Tottenham Sound meant to his generation.
