The following info came from a Brixton website:
"The PRINCE ALBERT (418 Coldharbour La SW9)
Unquestionably, the finest pub in Brixton! Attracting a mixed and very friendly crowd, the Albert enjoys a fierce loyalty from its patrons who enjoy the cheap beer, extremely eclectic music selection and the legacy of its legendary landlady, Pat Burke (who sadly passed away in May, 2002). Located next door to the 414 Club, this is the best place for a pre-club drink or just a pub night out. We recommend it. Look out for their poetry slamdowns and excellent quiz nights. Every night! "
I have spoken with the pubs manager, told him who we were and why we will be there, and he said he'd make sure there was plenty of Queen on the jukebox for us! Apparently there are two pubs closer to the Academy, but neither were reccommended! To get to the Albert, as you leave the underground, turn left, left again at the KFC and it's a few yards down - I am told it takes four minutes to walk to the Academy from the pub!
We will be there from about 6 to 6.30pm I would imagine, doors open at the Academy, according to my ticket, at 7pm. Not sure if the Albert stays open late, but we can check and perhaps go back there after the show too. see you there!
