NELSON MANDELA 90TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Pretty sure that anyone watching the ITV coverage here in the UK was as mad as I was.... it was dreadful. They showed little of the artists involved, sacrificed in favour of many other celebrities chatting 'backstage'. Yes, it was fabulous that so many famous faces wanted to sing the praises of the great Mr Mandela, but to give them preference over the artistes who gave up a great deal of their time to rehearse and play at the show was not a good call.
I was sitting watching Philip Schofield chatting to Steven Fry - yes an erudite and intelligent man with lots to say - but in the background I could see and hear Queen + Paul in full flight!! I'm afraid my TV got the brunt of some very bad language at that point! And then when they DID show Queen + PR - it was hacked down to the last two songs only!
But what I saw and heard was great, the boys were certainly on top form, and it made me look forward to that tour even more!
