A shirt signed by the whole band including Freddie is being auctioned for charity..

Up for grabs at "egay"

We have been asked to post the following:

A host of collectable items are due to be auctioned for charity on the newly launched egay auction site, the online marketplace for the gay and lesbian communities. Top of the bill is the Queen T-shirt signed by the entire band, including Rock legend Freddy Mercury.

Other items include a copy of the Soprano's script from the pilot edition, signed by the James Gandolfini and Edie Falco (and other members of the cast), an England rugby shirt, signed by the England rugby team and TV character Mrs Merton's wig, glasses and shoes worn on the show.

egay is auctioning the collectors' items in aid of Terence Higgins, the UK's leading HIV and AIDS charity (all funds raised from the sale of these items will be donated to the charity). The specialist auction site is committed to supporting the charity on a regular basis, by not only auctioning unusual items, but also donating 5% of their monthly profits.

Craig Busst, founder and managing director of egay commented, "We are thrilled to be auctioning these amazing items on our site. egay is not only raising lots of money for Terence Higgins, but providing our users with some unique Christmas gift items."

The egay website is designed to offer a new and valuable service. As well as the auction side, egay users will be able to make use of a comprehensive classified section. Auction items will be free to list until the end of January, to ensure any unwanted Christmas gifts can be easily auctioned. There will be a charge thereafter - up to 30% less than ebay. The classified section will enable businesses and individuals to advertise particular services and products such as rooms/properties to let, jobs, events and much more.

egay launched in October and 100,000 users are expected within the first 6-12 months. Log onto www.egay.co.uk and find out more.
