I was asked to plug the following gig:
"I am the drummer from the power metal group 'Pythia', and along with the axemen of Pythia, and the vocalist and piano player from Austrian band 'Serenity', we have arranged to play a set of songs from my brother's life-long favourite band, Queen.
Indeed it was through my brother listening to albums such as Innuendo that I was first introduced to rock music at the age of 9 or 10.
He was lucky enough to see Queen + Paul Rodgers twice over the last few years. Once at the O2, and once driving from London to watch them play in Newcastle.
As I still live in the Hampton area, I was able to attend the opening of the memorial to Freddie in Feltham, and whilst it was obviously quite emotional for me, it helped me to decide that playing a set of songs by the band my brother loved would be the best way I could pay tribute to him.
We have decided to donate all profits from the show to Kingston Hospital, where my brother spent 3 of his last 4 weeks after being taken ill, and also where my guitarist was looked after when he was taken ill with the same condition (pancreatitis) just 6 months later, and thankfully has since made a good recovery. Thankyou. Marc Dyos."
