Dear Jacky,
I met Brian (again!) recently when he came to Keynsham to support the local Labour candidate for the election.
Brian kindly agreed to sign the CD insert of a copy of Classic Queen when I explained to him that I would be offering it as an item at the forthcoming Auction of Promises for the campaign group Response2Route based in Bath.
We are fighting to prevent a valuable wildlife habitat and green lung within our community from being turned into an 11 metre-wide tarmac road for large, diesel bendy buses. We are now raising funds for legal representation at a public enquiry later this year, at which we are hoping to defeat the council's plans to build the road, and this is the reason for our Auction of Promises night on 24th June.
If any other Queen fans would like to bid for this item (I have photographic evidence of Brian signing it for authenticity) they can send me an email with the amount they would be willing to bid up to and we will take their bids into account on the night. The starting price is £10. If the CD is won by someone who bids by email, postage to anywhere in the UK will be free, but outside the UK will need to be paid for by the winner.
The CD is brand new and unplayed. I took the cellophane wrapping off in order to take out the insert for Brian to sign. He used his own, black marker pen. I can provide photos if anyone wants them.
